the “20th anniversary of jiangsu society for immunology and annual meeting of the immunology and metabolism branch of jiangsu society for immunology”, sponsored by jiangsu society for immunology and hosted by nanjing university medical school, was successfully held on november 12th. vice deans of nanjing university medical school, jiang qing, wang tingting, and wang hongwei, attended the meeting. distinguished experts and scholars from partner institutions such as peking university, institute of biophysics of chinese academy of sciences, shanghai jiao tong university, soochow university, suzhou institute of systems medicine of chinese academy of medical sciences, xuzhou medical university, yangzhou university, jiangsu university, and suzhou municipal hospital gathered with teachers and students from nanjing university medical school to share academic achievements.

the conference focused on the latest research progress in immunology and metabolism, deeply analyzing research hotspots including the biochemical basis of metabolic substances in different types of immune cells, metabolic pathway preferences, and nutrient supply. the teachers and students present had a better understanding of the metabolic phenotypes of immune cells in different states and the interrelationships of immune-metabolic homeostasis. the conference provided new ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment of immune-metabolic disorders, responding to general secretary xi jinping’s important instructions on scientific work, emphasizing that the scientific and technological development must target the global science frontiers, serve the main economic battlefield, strive to fulfill the significant needs of the country and benefit people’s lives and health.
