zhihong liu received her master’s degree in naval medical university (the second military medical). from 1993 to 1996, she worked as a visiting scholar in the national institutes of health (nih) usa. since 1996, she has been appointed as a full professor in medical school of nanjing university.in 2003, she was elected academician of chinese academy of engineering. she is now the director of national clinical research center for kidneydisease, jinling hospital. she is the editor-in-chief of kidney diseases and chinese journal of nephrology, dialysis & transplantation. she has devoted herself to patient care, research and medical education. she was the chief scientist of the national basic research program of china (973 program), and honored with the national science and technology progress award of china.
