weiqin li obtained his ph.d. from the second military medical school in 1998. he worked as a research fellow at the australian austin hospital, university of melbourne in 2004. currently, he holds the position of professor of medicine at nanjing university, and was awarded the changjiang scholar by the chinese ministry of education in 2013. he is also the director of the institute of emergency and critical care medicine and vice-dean in the national institute of healthcare data science at nanjing university. prof. li was appointed as the principal investigator in the acute pancreatitis lab of jinling hospital in 2014, as well as in the emergency and critical care lab of jinling hospital in 2018. his main research fields include conducting multi-center clinical trials and basic scientific studies on severe acute pancreatitis, sepsis, severe trauma, and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome.
